This intensive hands-on course equips project managers with practical skills to track, analyze, and visualize multiple projects simultaneously using Excel and/or Power BI.   • Overview of the analytics workflow: Capture → Process → Analyze → Visualize

1.2      Designing Your Data Structure

  • Create normalized data tables for project tracking
  • Design master tables for projects, tasks, resources, and expenses

1.3 Data Collection & Input Forms

  • Build a Time Entry Form using Excel forms/Data Validation
  • Create an Expense Entry Form with category classifications
  • Design a Task Progress Update Template

1.4 Performance Indicators for Project Management

  • Master key Excel Data functions for project analysis
  • Create dynamic calculations using structured references
  • Build summary metrics across multiple projects

1.5 Data Cleaning & Preparation

  • Identify and fix common data quality issues
  • Use Excel functions for data standardization

2. Excel Analytics & Dashboard Creation

2.1 PivotTables for Multi-Project Analysis

3. Power BI Advanced Dashboards & Reporting

3.1 Introduction to Power BI

  • Understand Power BI ecosystem (Desktop, Service, Mobile)
  • Navigate the Power BI Desktop interface
  • Import data from Excel workbooks

3.2 DAX for Project Analytics

  • Write DAX measures for project metrics
  • Understand calculated columns vs. measures
  • Create time intelligence calculations

3.3 Create time intelligence calculations

  • Design multi-page reports
  • Create interactive visualizations
  • Implement drill-through and filtering
