The first rule of data analytics

The #1 rule of data analytics is not to touch the original data.

By that, I DO NOT mean create a copy and work on it. You should still be using the original data but you should not make any change to the source file.

All the changes should be done within the data analytics area.

This area is available in Excel as well as Power BI.

If you are able to fulfil this first rule, you will find that your analysis and/or your report is maintenance free.

If you do not understand this first rule, you are not in data analytics yet. Sign up for our data analytics course and you will discover the secret of data analytics. (no coding skill is required).

If you have zero experience in data analytics and only use copy and paste in Excel, check out this course to get ready for data analytics.
